A suite for my sweet.
A new client came to me, with an interesting request to say the least. He wanted to recover the romance in his marriage, and for that he wanted to transform his apartment suite into his wife's dream room.
Perfect, I thought. I suggested an informal meeting with the wife. Impossible, he said. I want it to be a surprise. In that case, I'll need information about her dreams and tastes. Can you give me directions? Incredibly, this was his response. " We've been married for 10 years, I've known her since we were teenagers. She's been my best friend since I've known her. We usually have dinner together, watch some TV and go to sleep. The rest of the time we spend at work. I know she loved a hotel suite where we stayed in Prague, the last time we took a vacation. It was in 2016. I don't remember the name of the Hotel."
Sometimes a designer needs to be able to say no. It's not my case. I always prefer to think that I will unleash my extrasensory abilities and guess exactly what a person wants. And so it was. Once again.
Prepare for the worst, but always do your best.
The end result had an unexpected reaction. The two loved it and accepted the changes with great enthusiasm. As the work will take about two weeks, I convinced them to take a vacation so that when they arrived everything would be ready. Tomorrow they leave for Argentina, to visit Patagonia. Clear signs that sometimes, in order to improve relationships, it is best to take initiatives, such as hiring a designer.
